Founded in March 2024, Project FRTI (First Response Training Initiative) is driven by a simple and impactful mission: to bridge the gap in access to knowledge about first aid care among underserved communities in India, with the long-term mission of creating a safer public sphere wherein people are better equipped to respond to emergent situations and thereby maximize the chances of survival of individuals involved in medical emergencies, accidents, and mishaps.
Towards this end, the Project seeks to create and disseminate a wide range of knowledge resources including a series of factsheets and a number of YouTube videos in collaboration with experts on first aid care. The Project seeks to collaborate with local NGOs in Delhi to conduct interactive in-person workshops with local schools to impart training in identifying emergencies and administering proper responses. Further, the Project also seeks to conduct fundraising endeavors to facilitate a donation drive of first aid kits in local communities. Recognizing that effective first aid can often be the defining factor between life and death, the Project aims to cultivate a culture of preparedness and resilience in the lives of those most at risk.
